Kangaroo Valley

We got the tent out from the cupboard in the spare room, packed up all of our stuff and headed down to Kangaroo Valley on Friday. It was a (very) short getaway with some friends from Christ Church St George, and it was great hanging out, doing the usual camping things like pitching tents, camp cooking – including marshmallows, skimming stones in the creek, swimming, rounding up renegade cows and playing cards.
We camped in the paddock of a friend of a friend of a friend, though he had forgotten about the arrangement and was rather surprised to see us when he drove his tractor down the road the next day!
Kangaroo Valley really is a beaut spot, and we wished we’d had more than just the one night down there, but we had to be back for Church on Sunday morning (not to mention watching the woeful wallabies play England in the Rugby).
Brooke and I have decided we MUST make better use of our tent over summer, so is anyone keen to dust off their tent and join us?

Hmmmm – sounds very good… Depends when, but I reckon Clare would be up for it!
We’ve just bought a tent, haven’t camped in 20 years, so it’s a bit of an experiment, so once we’ve had a practice, we’ll let you know if we have become a camping family! From the Sampsons
I think having two kids with you makes your camping adventure on a whole new level to ours!
If you survive, let us know how it goes!
Cheers, Dave
We’re looking at going camping December 18th-22nd (4 nights) – probably South Coast somewhere (perhaps Jervis Bay area)? Is anyone keen? Any suggestions for places to stay?
